Fontainbleau
From the radiant sunburst in the center of the Honduran mahogany cabinet to the graceful foliage motifs, the Fontainbleau is nothing less than an enduring monument to the Sun King, Louis XIV. Over the course of his 72-year reign, King Louis would impact every facet of French life, especially the arts. His determination led him to retool a famous tapestry plant for cabinet-making in the style he demanded - using the scrollwork, fruit and floral motifs, leafage and swags so eloquently expressed in the elegant and grand Fontainbleau. Shown in Honduran Mahogany with piano finish, leather net drop pockets, hand-tied braid and silk tassels.
